Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride insisted that the Giants’ running back rotation between Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs is more of a concern to those outside the team’s locker room than those inside the locker room. They’ll both play, the Giants’ offensive coordinator said, and the hot hand will receive the carries. Even if that’s the case, it still fails to explain why Bradshaw usurped starting responsibilities from Jacobs. The official stance is that the team will continue utilizing a backfield rotation, which has been the model since Tiki Barber retired but it’s become clear through training camp and the preseason that Bradshaw will receive a more prominent role in his fourth season after rushing for 778 yards on 163 carries in 2009. Bradshaw’s increased role in the offense could come at the expense of Jacobs, who reportedly voiced displeasure after he did not receive a carry in the final preseason game.

They've said all the way through that it will be a committee, but the media just won't accept that and make their own opinions based on who has taken the first snap in the pre-season. Jacobs appears to be just tired of them trying to put words in his mouth, and them trying to create a rift in the Giants backfield where there isn't one (or wasn't before they started talking about who will 'start', as if that should matter).
