Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is already thinking about his next holdout, which likely will come in 2012, according to reports. The contract that Revis just signed with the Jets will pay him $32.5 million across 2010 and 2011, but drops to $13.5 million in 2012 and 2013 combined, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Barring a "true retirement contract," there will be more negotiations in two years. Asked by Sports Illustrated's Peter King whether he would hold out again after the first two years of this deal, Revis replied, "That's a great question. If I continue to play ball like I usually do, we'll probably be back at that same position we were this year." Source: Sporting News
Don't feed the trolls. Applies to all aspects of life. A guy holds out, he gets traded IMO. How can you say an individual isn't above a team and them show everyone they are.
if he does hold out that will be a joke. The Jets need to take lessons from the Packers. You saw what the Packers did with Farve
His new contract states that he can't hold out. It is a 7 year deal voided to 4 years, and if he holds out it is concreted to 7. I will guarantee he doesn't hold out again. lol
Why not, holding out got him more money why not try it again. Of course this depends on whether he's still playing at an elite level.
Just waiting for Rex's ego overloaded locker room to implode this year, and tomorrow night would be a great time to start as far as I am concerned.
Honestly, trade the bastard to the Iowa Barnstormers in a blockbuster. Or are there still teams in Europe? Bury him and call it a day.
