Colts SS Bob Sanders Out Indefinitely With Torn Biceps Tendon

Discussion in 'Indianapolis Colts' started by BigBlueBruiser, Sep 14, 2010.

  1. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, "Colts strong safety Bob Sanders has a torn biceps tendon and is out indefinitely, if not for the season." What is there left to do at this point besides shake your head? One of the league's truly elite defensive talents when healthy, Sanders will simply never be able to stay on the field. You've surely already heard this statistic by now, but it is worth repeating: since the end of the 2007 season, he has appeared in just nine games.

  2. Another interesting stat....Sanders has missed more career games (49) than games he actually played in (48).

Rep for 3B for that stat. Baffling.

I bet he's done and it's the same scenario we've seen with Sanders before, "we'll try to get him back for the playoffs."

  6. The Colts imo kept Sanders around a little too long.

He's not worth the money or the trouble keeping him around anymore. He never played enough games to be considered an elite safety. He only was elite when he won the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year award.

His two Pro Bowl seasons in 2005 & 2007 were the only years he played in more than 6 games and played in double digit games.
