The Detroit Lions have received a 24-hour extension to sell enough tickets to avoid a blackout, reports Tom Kowalski of MLive.com. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Lions had less than 3,000 tickets to sell before 1pm ET today to avoid having their home-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles blacked out on local television. That an extension was granted is a sign that in the last 24 hours, the team has moved closer to a sell out, and that in all likelihood, Sunday's game will be shown locally Source: Mac's Football Blog
not good news for the Lions. It would really suck to have your home opener blacked out. If i was a Lions fan I would tell everyone i know go buy a ticket so it doesnt get blacked out.
Times are tough here in Michigan, #2 state in unemployment...but I think the injury to Stafford sealed the deal. Mr. Ford has bought out the final tickets before, hopefully he'll do it again so it isn't blacked out.
