Pro Football Talk reports that at least one team has an agreed-upon contract in place with wide receiver Vincent Jackson, though it remains to be seen if the Chargers will trade him. There's no word yet on which team(s) have apparently worked out an acceptable contract for Jackson, though such an agreement would end up being a moot point if the Chargers remain stubborn and fail to trade him. Teams have until Wednesday to trade for Jackson if they want him back by Week 5, otherwise his suspension will last six games no matter what. The Vikings, Rams and Seahawks are rumored to be the teams most interested in Jackson. Source: RotoTimes
He isn't coming to Carolina....the obvious team has to be Minnesota at this point in time. But my gut says it's the Seahawks that has a contract in place. With Jackson....the Seahawks become the favorite to win the NFC West. They were the first team to have permission to make a contract offer to him. So I'm assuming nothing changes on that front.
Actually, I'd rather see a team out of no where (a team that hasn't been mentioned like the Panthers) score Jackson.
My out-of-nowhere team that would acquire Vincent Jackson: Jacksonville This would give Garrard his first true No. 1 receiver and with MJD in the backfield....their offense becomes a serious threat and could really challenge the Colts & Texans in the AFC South.
VJ may be good, but he's no second coming of Jerry Rice. Jacksonville would need a miracle to win their division. Tennessee is the closer one of the two to winning. All they need is a few players on defense, and a few players on offense.
This is speculation, I don't trust a word PFT prints. Until Adam Schefter says it, I won't believe anything.
