Derrick Mason was penalized for delay of game in the third quarter, another questionable decision by the Ravens wide receiver this year. Appearing to be upset after low pass from Joe Flacco, Mason grabbed the ball and tossedit high into the air. "It wasn't out of frustration," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "That's the thing I saw. He and I looked at each other and he said, ‘Take me out for a play.' Then he said, ‘Coach, I'm good. I can't believe they threw the flag, but I have to know better than that.' It wasn't a frustration factor. What you've got to understand about NFL football players, they want to be the difference." Harbaugh added, "They want to be the guy that wins the game. And they understand the ball is going to get spread around. I just think we have to understand how the rules are called, never put our team in jeopardy with a penalty and that's where the line is drawn. I need our guys to be smart enough to do that." Mason maintained his recent policy of not conducting interviews. This is the second time this year that Mason has received a flag for misconduct. He got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the preseason. Source: BaltimoreSun
