With Titans running back Chris Johnson carrying the football 32 times on Sunday against the Giants, head coach Jeff Fisher said on Monday that back-up Javon Ringer could become more of a factor in the gameplan. Ringer, who carried six times for 30 yards on Sunday, has 13 rushes for 64 yards and a touchdown so far through three games. Fisher said he will continue to look at possibly involving the second year back out of Michigan State more, especially early in the game. "I've given some thought to giving Javon (Ringer) some more carries early in the ballgame," Fisher said. "He has been very effective for us." Ringer has been used to give Johnson a breather, but Fisher said he has been very effective in that role. "We are switching backs to give him (Johnson ) a break," Fisher said. "Javon is making big plays for us." Source: TitansRadio.com
Ringer can make some crap happen with the ball. Not a bad idea, keeping CJ more fresh and giving it to a kid who can bust big runs, too.
