The Texans' offense produced one touchdown until mop-up time, but coach Gary Kubiak targeted his defense the day after a 27-13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Kubiak showed the tape to his players and featured those who made the most crucial mistakes. His tactic got their attention. “Coach called the guys out,†strong safety Bernard Pollard said. “Like it or not, I think it's going to light a fire under some guys' butts. As far as our defense goes, with me speaking from the back end, our pass defense is horrible. We're dead last. So many guys are making mistakes, including myself.†Kubiak thought it was the right time to call out players for making the kind of mistakes they shouldn't make. “I'm concerned about the consistency of our defense,†he said. “We've shown flashes. As coaches, we've got to find a way for them to play that way for four quarters. I thought we played very good defense for 40 plays. It was a 10-3 game. We (defense) had kept them in check and gave us many opportunities offensively to be in the game. We had a span, from the 41st play to the 54th or 55th play, where we gave up 182 yards and two touchdowns. Big plays have been our Achilles Heel. There's no reason for somebody to walk in our stadium and for us to give up 385 yards of offense. I don't care who we're playing.“ Source: San Antonio Express-News
Get'em Kube, thats the kind of coaching i want see. Call it like it is and call a bust a bust and get Kareem the heck out of town.
you really think that kid is a bust? naw foo! your crazy.. he got burnt, true but that doesn't make him a bust. Think Donte would have done better.
He has been getting burned by everybody in every game so far and he isn't showing any signs of improvement yet. He is definitely on his way to being labeled a bust if he keeps playing like this.
