According to Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, his former teammate defensive end Trevor Pryce has signed with the New York Jets. "kinda sad 2day. my boy trevor pryce signed wit the JETS!!!!!" Suggs posted to his Twitter timeline. "happy for him but would rather he be on my team!!!!! " Pryce, 34, was released by the Ravens on Wednesday so the team could re-sign safety Ken Hamlin. The Ravens expressed the intent to re-sign Pryce at some point this season, but the Jets have reportedly eliminated that option. A former first-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 1997, the 6-5, 290-pound Pryce has 90 career quarterback sacks, including a team-high 6.5 for the Ravens in 2009. By signing with the Jets, Pryce reunites with Rex Ryan, who was the Ravens' defensive coordinator when Pryce signed with Baltimore as an unrestricted free agent in 2006. Source: Mac's Football Blog
I was hesitant to post it F2M, but Schefter got it, Jameson @ the Sun paper has it, as well as the lame WNST. Hope this does not come back to bite us in the butt. Trevor said he would join Rex if he had the oportunity when Rex left.
Pryce wasn't a game changer now so I doubt this will be something that we'll regret too much - Paul Kruger needs to step up to the plate now.
Pryce wasn't a starter but was still solid. Sad to see him go - to sign Ken Hamlin? Really? - such a positive presence in the locker room.
Hamlin plays well against the run which we will need this week. Trevor took the money and ran with it. He gets his $2M this year and a one year deal from the Jets. Trevor is 35 and has one tackle and one sack this season. Let'em go, no biggie.
