Vikings WR Randy Moss Says Return To Minnesota "Fun Ride"

  1. Randy Moss' proved to be a hit in his return to the Vikings on Thursday and it had nothing to do with his performance on the field. With owner Zygi Wilf beaming in the back of the team's indoor practice facility, Moss held a 15-minute news conference which he began by informing the media that they needed to start asking questions in quick fashion and he ended with a line that was so good it must have been scripted. "I did have a few mix-ups here, but who didn't?" Moss said of his first go-around in Minnesota. "What if I'd have been on that boat? There really would have been some problems." It wasn't clear if Wilf laughed about the fact Moss made light of the Vikings' infamous 2005 "Love Boat" incident on Lake Minnetonka. That came a year after he was traded to Oakland and shortly after Wilf took control of the team, that incident is believed to be one of the main reasons Wilf jettisoned coach Mike Tice following the season and brought in Brad Childress to change the culture in Minnesota. The culture now clearly is on trying to win a Super Bowl and Moss should help the Vikings (1-2) starting on Monday night when they play the New York Jets in the New Meadowlands. "I'm very fortunate to be back home where it all started," Moss said a day after being obtained from the Patriots. "It's been a hectic last 48 hours. I didn't really know what to expect. It kind of feels weird that I was just in New England, trying to make things happen and overnight just get traded back home. I thought about this, time and time again, about how this thing was going to play out. And it was the love for me still here in Minnesota. All I've been seeing is nothing but positive. "To all the Vikings fans that's coming to that Metrodome, pull your 84 jerseys out, man, I think this is going to be a fun ride. It felt good to be out there today. I've watched these guys from afar. ... I've watched this team. I've paid attention to the team and the success they've had over the years. By them bringing me back here, I just want to see if we can get this thing done. I know we take it one game at a time. They came up one game short last year, so hopefully no one in this organization is looking at the bigger picture, because this Monday night we have the New York Jets. We take it one game at a time and see what happens at the end of the season."

  2. If Moss were on that Vikings team in '05....he definitely would've been on that boat.

But it's good to see him back in purple.....he's back where he belongs.
