Support For Raiders Coach Tom Cable Dwindling

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 8, 2010.

  1. A 1-3 start and a lack of improvement in key areas such as pass protection and run defense have some in Oakland clamoring for changes to start at the top with Tom Cable, but it doesn't appear that a head-coaching change is imminent, although getting blown out by the Chargers in Week Five could expedite the process. In another sign of how bad things are getting for the team, the Raiders will be blacked out locally for the 10th consecutive home game this week vs. San Diego and they drew their smallest non-strike crowd since 1967 with a paid attendance of 32,218 in Week Four vs. the Texans. There already has been speculation that offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is at the top of the list of candidates to take over on an interim basis if Al Davis decides to fire Cable. The Raiders could easily be 2-2 right now, but they're not, and Cable is taking much of the blame.

It'll be a wreck if Hue takes over. He seems to actually think for himself and have an idea of what HE wants to do, witch isn't going to jive at all with the Cryptkeepers need for total control over his HC. Until Al dies or relinquishes control, we are going to be jumping between Gruden/Kiffinesque situations and Cable/Callahanesque situations...and Hue definitely appears likely to fall into the Gruden/Kiffin style of major clashes until it all blows up.

This...I didn't think he'd have any support left at this point. He's been a failure and is a douche.
