Cincinnati Bengals receiver Terrell Owens thinks Randy Moss is getting a bad deal. New England traded Moss back to Minnesota this week, a move that got Owens' attention. Naturally, he saw it from a receiver's perspective — and he didn't like it at all. "I think it should be an eye-opener for a lot of guys around the league," Owens said. Owens thinks that a lot of quarterback Tom Brady's recent success can be attributed to having Moss as a receiver. Brady agreed to a four-year extension at the start of the season that guarantees him US$48.5 million. "Trust me, I know Brady is a great quarterback, but if you look at the numbers he's put up with Randy, they're very, very impressive," Owens said. "And I think a lot of guys should look at this from a standpoint of it is a business. So you have to go out there and do whatever you can for your family and for yourself because when it comes to management and owners, they don't care about you. That right there showed that they feel you're expendable. To me, it's mind-boggling and it's disappointing for Randy to be traded at this point, where he is in the season and his career, and not be able to have a big payday — because look at Brady. Brady just had a payday and a lot of the numbers that he's put up is because of Randy." Source: Associated Press
I agree with TO on some of that rant. Moss has been great for Tom Brady's career. I actually believed that Moss should have been the MVP the season that Brady got it. Before Moss was in New England, Brady, although successful and clutch, was never a great quarterback. Moss is near the end though, I don't think he will be effective for 3 or 4 more years. I also think he would be snitching even more if NE tried to give him a 1 or 2 year extension. So they traded him while he had some value, and the Vikes got a pretty good deal too, but only if they can sign him for another 2 years and hope his production doesn't go down the cliff. Cuz let's face it, this is most likely really Favre's last year, and noone knows what the future holds for Minnesota in the passing area
The only figure that matter is 3 Super Bowls with, 0 without - Brady was established before they got Moss and one could argue that once they got him they went away from the run that'd be so important for them when they were winning championships. However you want to look at it TO can stuff it.
I agree with T.O. I'm actually really tired of hearing people say 3 without, zero with. First of all, without Randy Moss, the Patriots aren't going 16-0 and representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. If Rodney Harrison successfully defends the pass to prevent David Tyree from making that ridiculous catch, the Patriots have 4 rings and one with Randy. The rushing yards the Patriots put up in 2007 weren't that far off from the ones they posted in the other three years...
