Browns running back Jerome Harrison, who rushed only six times for six yards Sunday against the Falcons, was traded to the Eagles today in exchange for running back Mike Bell, the Browns confirmed. Despite the fact the Eagles announced the trade, the Browns will make no formal announcement until Thursday when the players pass their physicals. Harrison, a fifth-year pro, was relegated to backup duty this season behind Peyton Hillis. It's been obvious that Harrison hasn't been happy with his role in recent weeks. Harrison seemed disgruntled in the locker room on Wednesday before heading out to practice. "Jerome is excited about a fresh start, but he was disapppointed to be leaving the Browns," said Mitch Frankel, Harrison's agent. "He dedicated himself in the offseason and worked harder than ever. Obviously.....Harrison was never going to see the light of day in Cleveland. Hillis had the stronghold on the gig and it was time for both parties to part ways. Harrison is a much better option as McCoy's backup. Nice trade by Philly I'll admit.
I've been a fan of his until recently. Going into the season with the multiple backs the Browns had, I was hoping to get a draft pick out of him, because he wasn't going to be resigned. Now they need healthy backs for now, and it's a last ditch effort to get something for Harrison. Philly is renting him unless they want to pay him in the offseason, which I doubt.
i think the eagles got the better back in the deal and it helps make up for bringing in bell in the 1st place.
The Eagles should have a nice backfield with McCoy and Harrison. I really like LeSean McCoy I think his ceiling is higher than Westbrook's was.
The Browns got hecked in that deal. Harrison is probably better than Westbrook is. He's definitely better than Bell. Hell, I'm probably better than Bell!
