5 weeks through the 2010 season...what jobs are going to be open and who would you fill them with?

    Possibilities:

    Buffalo Bills
    Carolina Panthers
    Cincinnati Bengals
    Cleveland Browns
    Dallas Cowboys
    Jacksonville Jaguars
    San Francisco 49ers

    Bill Cowher - Panthers

Really there are an endless amount of teams who could change their head coach.

    Vikings, Bears.

Personally I think both the Bears and Bengals are long overdue for new HC's.

yep, i would toss Houston and Oakland in there also. there could be a ton of open jobs again and i would love to see cowher back on the sideline.

I think regardless of how this season plays out, I think Coughlin is going to retire. Cowher wants that Giants job. The Panthers are in a hole. They actually dont have a number 1 pick this year because it goes to the patriots (i could be wrong). Claussen is not the quarterback of the future that some think. D'Angelo williams is a free agent this year. The offensive line is terrible, the defense is terrible.

  6. Jihad Joe

Ron Rivera will be Dallas's 2011 HC

He was a legit contender when he interviewed in 2007, but lost out because he dint have any experience in a 3-4. Jones liked him

I haven't heard Brian Schottenheimer tossed around much yet, but I think he'll be in the running by the end of the season for some team. Wouldn't be surprised if someone went for Charlie Weiss either or Greg Williams

Schottenheimer will definitely be a hot name when the time comes. Heimerdinger, Schottenheimer, any young coordinator from a winning team seems to be the pattern these teams go with now...although Heimerdinger's not that young, but I'd imagine he'd get a couple looks.

Would the McCaskeys be willing pay someone $5.5 million next year to someone that isn't the head coach of the Bears? In reality, I honestly doubt it, regardless of what the Bears record is this season. I do hope Lovie is given his pink slip after the season though.

How Ron Rivera is not a head coach right now is beyond me. Oh well, he gets to pad his resume as a defensive coordinator. Hopefully he gets a head coaching job SOON.

the thought flicked through my head too but i don't think it really makes any sense for the Titans to do it. Fisher hasn't 'lost' the team. He continues to rebuild them time after time when the front office purges salalries. Everyone knows he's one of the sharpest and more innovative coaches in the league. Why get rid of someone like that?

Bud Adams isn't going to get rid of Jeff Fisher, I mean Bud's crazy and all but he ain't stupid. Harbaugh would go to the Raiders before he went to the 49ers IMO...

He might if he gets the right amount of money and draft picks. I don't think Harbaugh is going to have an opportunity to go to the Raiders because I don't think that Tom Cable is going anywhere.

I'm not sure how much money or draft picks someone like Jerry Jones would need to give Adams to get Fisher. It would have to be a lot and I think even Adams knows it would not be a smart move. If we think Fisher is a top 5 or top 10 coach, what is that worth? Three 1st round picks and $20 mill? More?
