Ex-Chiefs GM Carl Peterson-To-Dolphins Just Rumors

Discussion in 'Miami Dolphins' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 16, 2010.

  1. After helping the Dolphins' turnaround from 1-15 to an 11-5 playoff team in 2008 and influencing this year's personnel decisions, Bill Parcells turned over control of the team to GM Jeff Ireland in September, as expected, but remains with the team as a consultant — for now. According to his contract, Parcells can cash out whenever he wants, and he has alluded to remaining in football in a new capacity. What does this mean for the future of the Dolphins, post-Parcells? The way Pro Football Weekly hears it, club officials were well-aware that Parcells would not finish his contract after laying the foundation for Ireland and head coach Tony Sparano. There have been theories that Carl Peterson, former CEO of the Chiefs and close friend of 'Fins owner Stephen Ross, could join the team in a Parcells-esque role, but Pro Football Weekly hears that those are simply rumors, and Sparano and Ireland will get at least a season before Ross looks for another football "consultant."

Carl just lost his edge in his later years in KC. Sign with Oakland, Carl.

Friendships in the NFL? All they get you are things like Carl Peterson hiring twinky Vermeil in KC just long enough to heck things up for years. Oh wait,.....
