Browns Place OT Tony Pashos, DE Robaire Smith On IR

  1. In a surprise move, Browns right tackle Tony Pashos was put on season-ending injured reserve today with an ankle injury. The club also moved defensive end Robaire Smith to IR with a back injury. With John St. Clair sidelined several weeks with an ankle injury, it's possible the Browns will compensate for the loss of Pashos by moving right guard Floyd Womack to tackle and inserting rookie Shawn Lauvao at right guard. The Browns filled the roster spots by signing receiver and return specialist Yamon Figurs and offensive lineman Paul McQuistan. Figurs was a third-round pick of Baltimore in 2007 and McQuistan is a versatile lineman who has started at right tackle, left guard and right guard.

Figurs should help with the return game if Cribbs is still hurt, and it's not like our receiving corps is deep or anything.
