Giants LB Michael Boley Feels For Cowboys QB Tony Romo

Discussion in 'New York Giants' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 27, 2010.

  1. The Giants don't get a complete bye week. After playing in Dallas on Monday night and having Seattle in front of them next week, the team will get more of a bye long weekend. Players and coaches were in East Rutherford today, watching a little film in meetings and digesting the win over the Cowboys. LB Michael Boley is still getting texts and emails congratulating for the clean hit that fractured Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo’s left clavicle. "Anytime we lose a teammate, we hate it," Boley said. Boley — who said he has never broken an opponent’s bone like that — was glad the hit wasn’t going to show up in an NFL video on illegal hits. “Don’t want to get fined first of all, we try to leep it clean,†Boley said. “Anytime we get shots on the quarterback our intention is not to hurt anybody it’s just to make plays.â€

    Yes, it sure was.

When you fall, there's a natural inclination to put your hand out to brace yourself. However, Tony couldn't do that because Boley had Tony's arms wrapped up.

I'm not sure how to take that quote. Are you suggesting that Boley tried to hurt Romo? maybe if the fullback had an idea where Boley was coming from, it wouldnt even be an issue. Couple that with a horrible offensive line and thats a recipe for injuries. That was a clean hit and him wrapping his arms up is what your told to do.

when i saw the replay while romo was still on ground i told my wife he's out with a separated shoulder, dislocated shoulder or broken collar bone.........

Not a freak play, simply because when you get in a tackle and wrap up a player's arms, there is a pretty good chance of landing on a shoulder/side because they can't do anything to cushion their impact with the ground.

Simple point is, it can happen when you execute a tackle properly....

No, not at all. I'm just saying that Romo couldn't do anything to keep from getting hurt in that situation.

And, after the play was over, and Rmo was grabbing his shoulder area, I thought he had a separated shoulder instead of a broken collarbone.
