I'm completely shocked that the Bills are winless. The game against the Ravens was no fluke and they aren't as bad as their 0-7 record. On the other hand, the Chiefs made way too many mistakes to get away with. If they don't start taking care of this crap, we'll lose to the Raiders.
Agreed. Their QB looks to be the real deal. The Chiefs need consistency and that will come with each game. Let's be real. Who forecasted the Chiefs to be 5-2 after 7 games with the AFC West lead?
Ryan Fitzpatrick created an epic comeback as a Ram against Houston about 5 years ago. Been waiting for him to get his chance ever since.
I'm glad we escaped with a win, but we did exactly that. Escaped! Our maverick coach Haley about cost us that game. Refusing to take field goals and continuing to go for it on every fourth down. We ran the ball for 274 yards and had 13 points...wtf? A win is a win and we'll take it but it was far from pretty and we'll need to get better still if we're going to win this division.
mistakes? the bills weren't in that game because of chiefs' mistakes ...... the bills played toe to toe with the chiefs, consistently stopped the chiefs on 3rd downs and had receivers open all day........ if the chiefs don't create huge plays on ST's or defense, they really don't pose much of a threat to other teams. In reality, it was the BILLS mistakes that allowed the Chiefs to win (Fitz throw that slipped, bad punts, etc.). The Chiefs are playing smart football and simply wait for the other team to beat themselves. If the other team doesn't beat themselves, the Chiefs will have trouble beating anyone straight up. The reason this particular game was SO close and surprised you is that the other team didn't make very many mistakes that the Chiefs could capitalize on. The Chiefs were forced to go toe to toe with their opponent and we saw that it was basically a wash.
Haley doesn't take the FG, DJ drops two easy picks, and Weis stalled our drives by passing the ball every time we started moving it with the run.
1) be careful wishing for haley to be less of a risk-taker. he knows what he has to work with and he's trying to improve and instill confidence in an offensive unit that needs a LOT of work. take away what he's doing and you may see your offensive unit regress into the anemic squad it was last year. 2) The coaches are doing a fantastic job of putting all of their players in positions to succeed. DJ is benefitting from better coaching and a better scheme. However, he's a defender for a reason. Defenders are not going to catch every single ball that hits their hands. There's no such thing as an 'easy' pick for a defender. 3) Again, be careful for wishing Weis would stick with the run more. He has to throw the ball occassionally to keep defenses honest. Otherwise, teams will simply put 8 or 9 in the box, your running game will begin to look like everyone else's, and the Chiefs will then be FORCED to throw. You don't want that. Passing the ball every now and then is helping your running game to stay potent and Weis is not throwing too much. (Chiefs ran 63% of the time yesterday. They have run 59% on the season. The league average is 45%)
As for point #1, I'd like to see it as more of calculated risks. If you're at the 20, there shouldn't be any discussion of taking a risk. It wasn't a hard FG at all. On points #2, I know defenders shouldn't always catch it, but it is amazing how many he's dropped right in the bread basket. Also, one thing I forgot. Late in the 4th quarter, the Chiefs had 3-1 and didn't even line up with a RB in the back field. We ended up punting and nearly ended up losing. That's why I'm blaming Weis just as much as any other part. Oh, and the Bills did make mistakes to the tune of three fumbles. Miraculously, they recovered all of them.
What the hell are you talking about??? #1 in the league in rushing and we need alot of work?? That is total b.s. bro. The passing game has made plays as well when needed. This team is just playing great overall and as far as you saying we cant go toe to toe with teams are you stupid? We dont make mistakes and it isnt our fault that others make em and obiviously we are good enough to force them to make those mistakes and force good things/turnovers. We have went toe to toe with every team we have played and have came short in 2 contest that were also very close. Sorry but that whole statement was full of it man and you sir need to quit being a party pooper and hater. We are a good football team and we keep proving it throughout the season.
The Bill have been playing for their pride 4 afew weeks now. and yesterday was no exception. we had chances to put the game away. and missed on those opportunities. Thank goodness we were able 2 pull it off in the end. if it wasnt that classic TO that Haley pulled on that good FG, we would have lost. just part of bumps in the road 4 learning with this young team.
