According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, Raiders coach Tom Cable reminded everyone that Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) will be the starting quarterback when he returns. For now. Jason Campbell has thrown for over 500 yards to go along with four TD and no interceptions in two straight wins, making it seemingly difficult to bench him no matter what happens to Gradkowski. If Cambell leads Oakland to a win over Kansas City in Week 9, Cable may eat his words. Stay tuned. Source: RotoTimes
Campbell has earned his job back imo for his performances the last two weeks. The Raiders are now at .500 this late in the season for the first time in 8 seasons.
You stick with the hot hand.....if Campbell leads the Raiders to first place in the AFC West next week.....he gets the nod for the rest of the way in my eyes.
Campbell has been decent, but the running game is what has really gotten the job done. I'm really worried about the Raiders right now. Like the Chiefs, they're running it on everyone and their defense has been terrific.
Gradkowski had to fight an uphill battle to get the nod over incumbent Jamarcus Russell last year, there's no reason why the Raiders organization should begin to make reasonable decisions under center now.
eh, it sounds like gradkowski isn't ready to come back yet anyway so cable is just buying himself some time ............... he can always change his tune later if campbell keeps playing at a high level but if campbell starts sucking again, then he can tell Grad that he was his guy the whole time.
