Randy Moss Told Zygi Wilf That Brad Childress Should Be Fired

Discussion in 'Minnesota Vikings' started by BigBlueBruiser, Nov 5, 2010.

  1. Vikings owner Zygi Wilf spent a second day at Winter Park on Thursday attempting to gauge the temperature surrounding his 2-5 team. This came three days after coach Brad Childress put his job in jeopardy and upset Wilf by breaking franchise protocol and deciding to place Randy Moss on waivers without consulting with the owner, according to NFL sources. Interestingly, Wilf might have been on board with Childress' decision to let Moss go after four games had the coach gone through the proper channels. After catching only one pass for 8 yards in the Vikings' 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots, Moss walked into the visitors' locker room where Wilf and other executives stood. According to an NFL source familiar with what transpired, Moss told the Vikings owner in no uncertain terms that Childress wasn't a good coach and should be fired.

haha Olly, I wonder how many Bears and Lions fans will have their 'don't fire Chilly' signs out when the Vikes go to Chicago and Detroit.

The opposition having signs that say don't fire Chili says a lot more than Vikings fans.

I'm not sure Frazier would fix anything, promoting a coordinator seems to only work when the previous had coach had a winning system in place and retires. Need some new ideas in the locker room.

I think if you go interim, Frazier is really the only choice. Beyond that, who knows.

  11. Wilf considered firing Childress and keeping Moss. That's why Moss wasn't on the waiver wire despite Chilly saying he was no longer with the team. Wilf was pissed that Moss was being waived.

Frazier ain't all that great either at the moment. Let's see him get that mess he calls a Defense straightened out before mentioning his name in replacing Childress.

My crystal ball is showing me Brian Billick returning to Minny, unless Jerry calls. Brian made his mark as OC in Minny that got him the Baltimore gig. Granted they had a lot O weapons. I think Brian is ready to test the market. Just saying.
