interesting. this is such an unusual year with all of the teams having at least 2 losses at the mid-way point. what do you think is in your formula that likes the falcons over the rest of the 6-win teams?
My rankings have the Titans at #1, Giants at 2 (took quite a jump from last week, where they were 10th). **********Automerged Doublepost********** My rankings for anyone that was wondering, hope you don't mind me putting in your thread. 2010 Season - Through Week 9: Adjusted: 1. Looking at my sheet, Falcons are beating teams who are winning against strong opponents, as well as their losses. At a glance, the Giants would be closer had the Points Diff/Game been left at /10 (Currently at /20). They also have a very small advantage in the strength of opponents wins in that they lost to, but the superior strength of victory of opponent that the Falcons have beaten is what's put them ahead. Steelers is also a similar situation, but with a smaller point diff/game and slightly down in the two columns. Patriots and Jets are well down in strength of opponents that they have beaten. Jets also are hurting from the weak victories of teams that they have lost to, and Patriots are stinking it up in points diff/game. Ravens like Pats/Jets are down in strength of opponents that they have beaten (Although not as bad), and like the Jets, struggling with the weak victories of the teams they have lost to. Interestingly though, my previous formulae has Steelers top, followed by Ravens and Colts.
ok, thx for the explanation. i'm amazed how many people have formulas on one forum. We should combine forces and come out with a super-formula ................ :icon_cheesygrin:
Big wins against the Raiders, Giants, Jaguars, and Eagles (17 or more points). Also none of their losses were by more than 8.
Not quite, just need Garrett to take his Offensive Co-Ordinator skills to Head Coaching, and a couple of Bills & Panthers wins to make things truly right.
How do u Have the Chiefs 1 over the Raiders when we just beat them and now gaining CONTROL of the AFC West which is now in our hands.
My rankings don't take head to head into account. KC has the better win percentage which is enough to put them over the Raiders (in the adjusted) when win percentage isn't taken into account the Raiders are ahead. Really it isn't a big difference.
yep, my formula still has the chiefs ahead of the raiders too. the raiders were really bad in september and that's something that's holding them back obviously.
how is it in your hands? The Chiefs still have a half-game lead on the Raiders...? I know you've won all your division games so far...but it ain't over yet! :icon_cool:
he may be referring to the fact that if the raiders win out, regardless if the chiefs win every other game on their schedule (other than the next raiders game), then the raiders will win the division. the same can be said for the chiefs though. if the chiefs win out, it doesn't matter what the raiders do, the chiefs will win the division. either scenario of the raiders or chiefs winning out is far-fetched though so it's a pointless statement for him to make at this point.
Ok...so...question for you then...hypothetically speaking of course...if the Raiders go 6-0 in the divison, and the Chiefs go 4-2 in the division...but the Raiders end the season at 9-7 and the Chiefs end the season at 11-5...the Raiders are the ones who go to the playoffs, right? ...Or if both teams go 5-1 in the division...what happens then?
If Chiefs end 11-5 and Oakland finishes 9-7.....KC will win the AFC West. KC is still a half game ahead and even if they both win out....the Chiefs will still win the division.
But don't the fact that they win the division count? That's what I can't figure out....:icon_confused:
