Titans QB Vince Young Frustrated By Lack Of Jeff Fisher's Confidence

Discussion in 'Tennessee Titans' started by BigBlueBruiser, Nov 22, 2010.

  1. After reflecting on the messy events during and after Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, quarterback Vince Young said his biggest issue with Jeff Fisher is that the Tennessee coach lacked the confidence in him to return to the game when Young thought he could have played with his thumb injury. "It was very frustrating," Young said in a Sunday night telephone conversation. Young's comments followed an emotional day in which he was booed, injured his thumb, threw his shoulder pads into the stands, reportedly verbally sparred with Fisher in the locker room -- saying he was walking out on the coach, not the team -- and stormed out of LP Field without talking to the media. Fisher said afterward Sunday that Young had lost his hold on the Titans' starting quarterback position. Young said he knows he made mistakes dealing with the situation Sunday and didn't react the way he should have, but he said his frustration of not playing and not having Fisher's faith had built up to the point in which he didn't know how to handle it. He now knows he did not handle matters the right way. "It was just an awkward situation," Young said. "I just want to play football. I want to win games. I want to go to the Super Bowl. That's it."

um, why would Fisher have confidence in him at this point?

he's been shown to melt down on multiple occassions. he can't handle the pressure of nfl fans. he apparently has trouble with authority. he acts like a child.

i was one of the biggest defenders of VY coming out of college. i thought he had a chance to be one of the most exciting, dynamic QB's the NFL had ever seen. However, it's obvious at this point that VY is still not right in the head and as long as he is having these mental problems, he will never be great.

He should come to Philly and be "rehabilitated" under Vick for a few years.

Vince just wants to go to the Super Bowl? what a moron, he seems to forget that you need to also practice, stay late and instead of leaving for a few days off, he should have stayed and got his owies worked on...damn wuss. Fisher is fed up and no one can blame him, Young isn't who Fisher wanted in the first place.

Vince just needs to sit his butt down for a year or two with a coach that will put up with his mess. Fisher isn't willing to and I don't blame him, 16 years as a solid HC and he has yet to win a Super Bowl, and he won't do it with #10 (or #5 for that matter) at quarterback.

That said, there's a reason why he's kept Collins all these years, and it's because he knew Vince was unstable. Whole team has seen it after this incident.

This is just a replay of a couple of years ago. It's only a matter of time before it happens again and once again the team will suffer because of it.
