Tom Cable has twice benched Campbell this season in favor of Bruce Gradkowski. Most recently, he was pulled during last Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and although he wasn’t performing well at the time, Campbell’s hot hand did help lead the Raiders to three consecutive wins heading into that game. It’s hard to imagine Cable lied to Campbell like he did the media in regards to the starting job but that doesn’t mean the quarterback understood it any better. “My thing was in the Pittsburgh game, well, he was healthy,†Campbell said regarding Gradkowski, per Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune. Gradkowski was supposedly an injury question mark heading into that game. “You’re a competitor and you like to compete, but by no means are you understanding or anything,†the quarterback added. “It’s kind of tough because you’re caught right in between something and you don’t know what’s going on.†The quarterback situation has been made clear once again thanks to Gradkowski re-injuring his shoulder against the Miami Dolphins. I don't either....it seems for whatever reason......they go with one guy for a few weeks....then they make a switch and so on and so forth. You can't expect to win in this league by playing musical chairs at the QB position.
Here were going into a stretch of games that are "must wins" if we want to have a shot at the playoffs. With Bruce's shoulder, Campbell can make this his team by winning... Problem is that Campbell is just good enough to keep you in games that you should win and consistently looses those that are toss ups. We need to find a way to win those toss up games. (Chargers, Colts & Chiefs just incase you were wondering which games are tossups)
