John Vomhof Jr. of the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal reports during a stadium-focused chat with fans on Vikings.com on Tuesday, Vikings Vice President of Stadium Development and Public Affairs Lester Bagley confirmed that the team has been approached by groups that want to bring the NFL to Los Angeles, but he stressed that the team wants to find a stadium solution in Minnesota. He said the team is considering multiple Minneapolis sites and one suburban site. "No conclusions have been reached, and we're working to bring forward a package with a single site as soon as our work is completed and as soon as the new Legislature and the new governor are ready," Bagley said, calling the 2011 legislative session "critical" for the Vikings because the team's Metrodome lease expires following the 2011 NFL season. (Legislative leaders have identified a stadium as a topic of discussion for the upcoming session.) For now, the Vikings are focused on funding proposals that center around user-based revenue, such as lottery games, a surcharge on NFL merchandise and various hospitality-related taxes.

the vikings claim they have 2 different offers in l.a. i think they know that it would be smarter for them to stay in minny though. they just want a new stadium. and i can't blame them.

I think a big part of it is trying to get leverage for a new stadium. I can't see the league wanting to move the Vikings, although they clearly want a team there. I don't know that it really makes sense to move another team to California when there are already two that struggle to fill their stadiums.

Why not? They took the Lakers from them and they have similar colors. I still think it's a bluff, the NFL likes to use LA to basically threaten cities to build new stadiums for NFL teams.
