Panthers coach John Fox was asked about his future with the team he’s coached since 2002. “I’m under contract ’til Feb. 1, along with my whole staff and some players that are in the locker room that are in the last year of contracts,†Fox said Monday at his weekly press conference. “I would be purely winging it to try to predict the future. I just can tell you that you’ll get everything we’ve got until then.†The Panthers, who have the NFL’s worst record at 1-11, have two games remaining against NFC South leader Atlanta (10-2), as well as games against Arizona (3-9) and Pittsburgh (9-3). Panthers owner Jerry Richardson and general manager Marty Hurney have not commented publicly about Fox’s future. Fox said the question of whether he wanted to return to the Panthers is moot. “This is a business. There’s two sides to football – there’s football and then there’s business,†Fox said. “The business things you do in the offseason whether you’re a player, a coach, an assistant coach.
