It will be quite a scene at Ford Field for the first Monday night game in the history of the building, of course, the hometown Lions are not involved, and it’s not technically “Monday Night Football†as the game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants will be televised in local markets on Fox. But it’s football in Motown on a Monday and the Lions are anticipating a packed house. Nearly 1,000 fans showed up at Ford Field this morning for free tickets. The game was moved there because of the collapse of the Metrodome roof and those who attended Sunday’s Packers-Lions game can turn in their tickets stubs for free tickets. “This is something we've had to pull together on short order,†Lions president Tom Lewand said, according to MLive.com. “So we're all going to have to work together, show the good Detroit spirit and make sure we can accommodate as many people as we can. But I think we're going to be a little oversubscribed.†Those who held tickets to the game in Minnesota will be given priority seating near the 50-yard line, the Lions, though, believe they will have a near capacity crowd and that won’t be a bad thing for them.

I live about an hour and a half south of Detroit, in Ohio, and got stubs to go to this. I'm just hoping I don't get there to be turned away, I'm about to call the box office now and find out specifically what the deal is.

This was a good chance for people who don't normally get to see a NFL game to go and not damage the pocket book. Good deal. I like it.
