Heavy rains in Southern California have the field at Qualcomm Stadium submerged under water, Matthew Hall of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The home portion of the San Diego Chargers' regular season schedule has ended, but the Chargers are still in the hunt in the AFC West and could host a playoff game in early January. A more pressing matter is the Poinsettia Bowl, which is scheduled to kickoff at 5pm PT on Thursday. "The field will be ready," Poinsettia Bowl executive director Bruce Binkowski said. "The ground crew will be working all night long. There might be a few soft spots where water sunk in, but the field will be ready." Source: Mac's Football Blog
