Cowboys backup quarterback Jon Kitna suffered a strained left oblique (stomach muscle) in Saturday's loss to Arizona. and his status is uncertain for next week's finale against Philadelphia. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team will have to acquire a quarterback just in case. Kitna had exceeded the expectations of a backup quarterback, keeping the Cowboys' offense running smoothly by completing 209 of 318 passes for 2,365 yards with 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He got injured throwing a two-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jason Witten with 5:11 left in the first half. He wanted to play in the second half, but he couldn't get through warm-ups. "I can't explain it,'' Kitna said. "I've never pulled a muscle in my life.'' Source: Dallas Morning News
