11-5 and a home game isn't too bad in the playoffs. Rather them have their bad week this week than in 2.
Few thoughts on this freaking disaster... -We can all sit here and snitch about the o-line, but teams are blitzing the ever-loving crap out of us. And it will not change. This all falls on Andy, Marty, and Vick to figure out how to get the freaking ball in someone's hands in a 2 or 3 step drop, or stay in the freaking shotgun all day. -McDermott really gonna blitz Mikell and leave Chaney to freaking cover Harvin one on one in a 3rd and 11? Come the heck on man. -Vick looked like a freaking chicken with his head cut off all night. I know he got scared and tired of getting pounded in the pocket, but he resorted to his old ways of looking for read #1 and trying to do something else if it wasn't there. The fumbles were absolutely freaking careless and his throws were OFF ALL GAME. Missed the wide open D Jax TD if he leads him and he should have had 3 or 4 INTs against him if the Vikings DBs had any hands. -GIVE THE god **mn BALL TO MCCOY!!! Dude makes plays more often than he doesn't and we don't give him nearly enough touches. Screw me. As the Duke said, glad we put this one in the rear view. We were bound to have a crapty performance, and I;m glad we made ourselves look human. Our starters essentially get their 'bye' week now to rest, heal, and gameplan for the Packers/Giants. This mess also gets everyone off our nuts so expectations are lowered. Don't get me wrong, I'm freaking angry that we lost this... but knowing what we know now, we can proceed in a better way than our competitor can in round 1 of the playoffs.
I was really surprised the Eagles did not adjust more quickly to that blitz Winfield kept running in the 1st half. I'd say Vick was definitely getting hit a lot and feeling it. I think he got rattled by it.
Actually......history is the key word. Because what happened in the past....is history. The Eagles' best football as of late came in one quarter against the Giants. And after the Eagles' performance tonight against Minnesota.....they'll be history if they don't turn it around in a very short week against the Cowboys and then against New York/Green Bay or Tampa Bay the following week in the Wild Card. You don't want to limp into the playoffs with two losses to end the season.
I could give a heck if we lose next week. Expectations will be lowered and we have nothing to lose by resting our starters.
Lol that's what I was saying going into the week. Knowing Andy, his dumb fat butt will try and play some of them. Dmitri Patterson deserves to be out there next week. Screwin' douchebag. Chaney should, too. Coleman needs the snaps.
Almost a lock that Vick lost the MVP last night. I'll bet almost every voter was watching that mess...
see this is an issue because alot of the pressure is coming from the opposing d-lines and then one blitzer. ie. winfield last night. no excuse that a team can not adjust to that. problem is contrary to what some say this o-line is just not that good. plain and simple and add to that an inept HC when it comes to gameplanning beyond the norm and god for bid make an adjustment during game. zero freaking excuse for that crap last night and people that have defended reid no longer have the built in "mcnabb" excuse.
the eagles seemed uninterested in being there. i can't help but wonder if they are satisfied with the #3 seed and were inclined to just play vanilla not only in physical effort but also play calling to 'save' themselves for the playoffs.
Vick getting wacked like pinata every play is what they got so if that was their thinking they are even dumber then I thought.
you guys actually think that was full effort from your players and the best play-calling your coaches had to offer?
Definitely not, but they did attempt many long plays that just didn't work. To act like they wanted to lose is ridiculous. Having a bye week far outweighs not showing their hand for the playoffs. They flat out stunk up the joint, but it wasn't on purpose.
no, no, no. i'm not saying they wanted to lose ........... i'm saying they were not inspired to give 100% effort in any aspect of the game because they had locked up the division
