The New England Patriots have suspended rookie defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick, according to a source close to the situation. Deaderick, a seventh-round draft choice out of Alabama, dressed for 10 games this season (four starts). Coaches credited him with 17 tackles and he had two sacks. Deaderick's playing time had tailed off considerably since Nov. 25 at Detroit, when he was inactive after a stretch of seven games in which he dressed. Entering the postseason, he projected as a backup adding depth along a defensive line that has been hit with injuries. Source: ESPN Boston
