The Browns will interview Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on Thursday, the Plain Dealer has learned. Pat Shurmur will interview for the Browns' head coaching position on Thursday. Shurmur is the nephew of late NFL defensive coordinator Fritz Shurmur, who worked under Mike Holmgren. Shurmur, who's in his second season as Rams coordinator, spent seven seasons as Eagles quarterbacks coach, where he had strong ties with general manager Tom Heckert, now GM of the Browns.

Opinions on his work here depends on who you ask. Some will say he's done very well with Sam Bradford as well as coping with the lack of options, others will attack for not letting Bradford off the reigns and changing from the painfully lacklustre short passing possession game that has cost the Rams multiple wins down the road.

Either way, if Shurmur did get the job (unlikely), I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
