Hue Jackson Awaits Interview With Raiders For Head Coaching Job

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jan 7, 2011.

  1. Raiders managing general partner Al Davis is expected to interview offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for the team's head-coaching vacancy, but Davis apparently is not going to be pressured into speeding up the process for the supposed front-runner, even though Jackson already has interviewed for the 49ers' head-coaching job and could get consideration from other teams looking for a head coach. The 49ers did not make an offer to Jackson after his interview and Jim Harbaugh is the candidate San Francisco is believed to be targeting. Jackson handled play-calling duties during the season, which was his first with the Raiders, and they improved from 31st to sixth in points per game, scoring 213 more points in ’10. In addition, there was speculation throughout the season that he would replace Tom Cable if Davis decided not to pick up Cable's option. Cable was informed that his time as head coach had come to an end on Jan. 4

"should be" and Al Davis in the same sentence.

He'll probably name himself the new head coach.
