Chris Cooley told reporters after the Redskins’ final game that he was going to have offseason arthroscopic surgery on his knee but he didn’t tell them it was because he got kicked by Todd Yoder’s wife during the offseason. Cooley concluded his weekly Friday appearances with the Junkies by talking about his knee surgery, and revealing that Yoder’s wife — an accomplished lacrosse star and former player with the Tampa Tempest of the Independent Women’s Football League — was to blame. He also said he deliberately kept the injury out of the press. “I didn’t want anyone to know I had a knee issue,†Cooley said. “I had two meniscus tears in my knee. One was from 2005 when we played the Giants, and another one was from Todd Yoder’s wife in a limousine. She’s ruthless. She kicked me. I was falling asleep on the way home. She didn’t want me to fall asleep.†Cooley said they were all returning from ECitie Restaurant & Bar in Tysons last spring when the incident happened. And I’m told that he actually wasn’t joking; he can’t say for sure, but he really believes this kick was responsible for the tear. Source: Washington Post
