Chargers Assistant Ron Rivera Likely To Become Panthers Head Coach

  1. According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera will become the Panthers' next head coach, "barring a huge change of direction." Peter King of Sports Illustrated passed along a similar report this weekend. It's not like the Panthers are waiting on Rivera's playoff run to end, so they'll probably end up making the union official this week. Rivera guided San Diego to a No. 1 overall ranking in total defense this season. The 49-year-old former NFL linebacker has been deserving of a head coaching job for years.

I hope he gets the job, because it's a long time coming.

After Glazer and Co.'s freaking awful twitter reporting during the Harbaugh soap opera, I think we can safely surmise that Rivera will probably end up in Cleveland if Glazer's saying Carolina.
