The Redskins don't plan on parting ways with quarterback Donovan McNabb anytime soon, reports Jason Reid of the Washington Post. The Redskins have really painted themselves into a corner with McNabb. The best they will be able to do is trade him for a late-round draft pick. Source: RotoTimes
I think the Redskins are a little too late to say there intent on keeping him......they'll be lucky to get anything higher than a sixth round draft choice after benching him twice in the same season and then deactivating him for the final three games of the season.
Why would they part ways. He's a quality back up...probably one of the better ones in the league as far as talent goes. As far as helping the starter, probably one of the worst.
Hes going to be a distraction, do you think McNabb will sit on the bench quietly? They need to find a way to get rid of him but they really hecked this one up.
They are probably going to wait until after the draft and free agency (if that happens) to get the QB they want, and if the can't find who they are looking for they will be begging McNabb to comeback.
If he remains in Washington for five more years than his career is in serious jeopardy, I dont think after five years on the bench in Washington McNabb would be coming back for another season.
