Jets LB Bart Scott Says Wes Welker's Playing Days "Will Be Numbered"

Jets linebacker Bart Scott physically threatened Wes Welker in a Newsday interview after Welker made repeated references to Jets coach Rex Ryan's foot fetish earlier in the week. "I’ll tell you what," said Scott. "Be very careful what you say about our coach. [Welker's] days in a uniform will be numbered. Put it like that." NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed Saturday that the league will investigate "comments of a physically threatening nature" going forward, with "discipline" possible. The Patriots and Jets square off at 4:30ET Sunday.
