  1. Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick won NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors in awards announced by the Sporting News on Monday. Vick, who won the Eagles' starting QB job and took the team to an NFC East title, was honored by a voting panel that included 617 NFL players, coaches and executives. On Twitter, Vick said he was "thankful for all the people in my life who made this possible. They know who they are!" Vick was voted the NFC Pro Bowl starter after starting the season as a backup to Kevin Kolb. It was his second year back in the NFL after missing two seasons while he served a prison sentence for a federal dogfighting conviction.

Yeah...in order to be comeback player, don't you have to comeback from something? lol...

I guess he came back from sucking last year, or maybe he came back from the adversity he created for himself, but if that's it then wouldn't that be like giving Osi Umenyiora the award for his blown knee 2 years ago...

I was hoping EJ Henderson would get it. Coming back from a broken femur and playing at the same level is pretty impressive.

Can't just be happy for the guy? sure, the dude created the issue himself but he came back from a hell of a lot. I'm pretty sure it says you're able to get it if you come back from adversity. i'd say what he went through was adversity.

He didn't go through the adversity in 2010, he did during his "comeback" season - 2009. He didn't miss last season...so what's he coming back from in year 2? Mike Williams on the other hand was out of football for 2 seasons and he came back to be a pretty productive receiver. That would be an example of a comeback. If Mike Williams goes for 105 catches and 1500 yards and 11 TD's in 2011...not a comeback year...
