Josh McDaniels will be Sam Bradford's new mentor after all. The Rams hired McDaniels as offensive coordinator Tuesday, team sources told ESPN. Earlier Tuesday, sources said a significant snag in negotiations between the Rams and McDaniels had led the team to broaden its search to include coaches with West Coast-system roots in which Bradford excelled during his rookie season. McDaniels will replace Pat Shurmur, who was hired as head coach of the Cleveland Browns last week. Source: ESPN
Gotta hand it to Kroenke and the Front Office, they are doing everything they can to put the Rams back to the top, and whilst I'm not a lover of McDouchebag for what he did in Denver, his pedigree as a Co-Ordinator is something to look forward to :)
The Rams will now employ a vertical passing attack after running a West Coast scheme last season. If St. Louis can put more pieces around Sam Bradford.....the Greatest Show on Turf could very well return.
For me, there's little doubt that Bradford will be able to transition without too much hassle, just need the receivers to stay healthy (Avery, Clayton, Amendola, Alexander and Robinson are a very capable bunch, but only two of them managed more than eight games+ last year). McDaniels is proven to excel without the greatest talent at QB (Cassel, Orton), so to have someone with the potential that Sam has is an exciting prospect next season, the only worry is how long McDaniels will stick around if he does succeed. Don't want Alex Smith V2 happening in St. Louis.
Real good hire by the Rams. They have a lot of pieces in place and started to put it together this season...might go through some transitional struggles, but they'll be alright...
That's a good thing for the Chiefs, could you imagine the ego overload of Todd Haley and Josh McDaniels? It would set them back years.
