Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson on Wednesday said that is he, and not team owner Al Davis, who is making the final decisions about his staff. "I know you hear all the different stories about the Raiders, but none of those things are true," Jackson told Sirius NFL Radio. "Coach Davis has done a great job of creating an environment for the players and coaches to be successful. That's what we're looking to do." The Raiders hired Jackson this month to replace the fired Tom Cable. Jackson served as offensive coordinator under Cable last season. He said last week he was excited to join ranks with Davis, whose team went 8-8 last season to clinch its first non-losing campaign since 2002. Jackson hasn't filled out his entire coaching staff yet, but said any presumption that Davis is calling the shots is false. "Everybody always says that everything is done by (Davis)," Jackson told Sirius. "That's not true. I'm hiring this (coaching) staff. He made me the head coach of this team and said, 'Hue, let's go.' "Obviously, I bounce everything off of him. Why wouldn't I? This is his team. But he doesn't sit there and rule everything with an iron-clad fist. The guy runs a draft as well as anyone I've ever seen. This guy knows football. To not use him as a resource would not be very smart on my part." Source: USA Today
