Corralled by the media following NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's press conference, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft spoke frankly about negotiations towards a new collective bargaining agreement. Kraft thinks a new deal can be done relatively quickly. "In my opinion, we could get a deal done in the next week," Kraft said. "If business people sat down on both sides, and we tried to get the lawyers in the background. "You look. We just had a situation where we were sued (because) we didn't get enough money from the networks. I know as chair of the broadcast committee, I worked with our committee and the Commissioner, we generated revenue at a very serious time in our country. We went out and extended contracts, and then we were just sued that we didn't do a good enough job. "And so the players end up paying $15 million in legal fees for something that is nonsensical. And we got to stop this legal maneuvering and get business negotiations going on. "And if we do, I'm confident we can close a deal." Source: macsfootballblog
