Dallas invested a huge amount of money into cornerbacks Terrence Newman and Mike Jenkins, but didn’t get much bang-for-their-buck in 2010. Their secondary allowed the most passing touchdowns in the NFL (33), while their opposition’s passing yards per game (243.3) and QB rating average (92.8) also ranked near the bottom of the league. According to NFL Network‘s Albert Breer, there is no guarantee that Newman will be back in Dallas in 2011. Ankle and rib injuries contributed to the 32-year-old’s disappointing year, but with three years and over $20 million still due on his current deal, it’s a sizeable risk to retain him and count on a rebound. imo they should not do this especially the way jenkins played last yr.......scandrick cant really cover the outside......and there is no guarantees a rookie will do as good or better...... the secondary allowed many Tds bc our pass rush was non exisitant except for DWare.....if a QB can sit back there he will pick apart any secondary
It will be tragic if we cut Newman. Unless Ahsemau(sp) is coming to replace him.. That could get really interesting.
Yep.. there has been talk that he would want to play for Rob Ryan again. But it is just rumors. I HIGHLY doubt he will be in Dallas. Crap.. it is really just wishful thinking. LOL
