The NFL was aware last week that temporary seating areas at Cowboys Stadium could be problematic but chose not to alert fans in the days ahead of Super Bowl XLV. Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday -- a day after the NFL turned 400 ticket-holders away from seats at Super Bowl XLV because of temporary seating areas that weren't up to code -- that league officials wanted to have a chance to complete necessary fixes before alerting the public. "We made a judgment that we had a very good shot to be able to complete it," NFL executive VP for business operations Eric Grubman said. "We made a judgment that it was the right course of action to bring the fans in, rather than discourage them, or create a sense that they wouldn't have the information necessary." Local public safety officials in Arlington, Texas, site of Cowboys Stadium, declined to sign off on the safety viability of the temporary seating areas the NFL built for the game. Workers continued to assemble the seating areas even as fans entered the building until being called off shortly before game time. "We felt in the middle of the week that it was going to be a problem," Grubman acknowledged. "We did not feel until the game day that we had an issue where there was a distinct possibility that we would not be able to accommodate fans." Source: USA Today
sure they refunded the ticket cost at a higher rate but that would not cover what most people paid to get there . they should get all there money back !!!!
I don't think this is too bad of a deal... 1. One free ticket to next year’s Super Bowl game plus a cash payment of $2,400 (three times the face value of the Super Bowl XLV game ticket held by the individual). The ticket to next year’s Super Bowl game is transferable. [OR] 2. One free ticket to a future Super Bowl game of the fan’s choice, including next year’s if so desired, plus round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations provided by the NFL. This offer will be personalized in the ticketholder’s name and is not transferable. Link- http://www.truebluefanclub.com/blog...&plckScript=blogScript&plckElementId=blogDest
If they knowingly sold tickets that weren't going to be available, that's got lawsuit written all over it...
