Titans coach Mike Munchak has fired offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger as he starts to remake his coaching staff a day after taking over the top job. Heimerdinger, who is continuing cancer treatment after diagnosed in November, confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday that he had been fired, Munchak was introduced Monday and promised that changes were coming. Heimerdinger was the second coach the Titans interviewed to replace Jeff Fisher. He was under contract for the 2011 season and said he was happy that Munchak got the job. I wonder how much of this has to do with his health. Sad but true. Or maybe Munchak would feel undermined by Heimerdinger.
Either way, not a very good PR move. Lot of people will see this as a serious butthole move considering the guy is still fighting cancer.
I disagree. I think it will be seen as a new Coach wanting to get his guys in and the previous coaches guys out.
I see it as a butthole move, that's just wrong to fire someone suffering from cancer, it doesn't matter if he is the best or worst coach in the world or if he's his best friend or his worst enemy, respect human life and let the man do what he loves doing
