Patriots left tackle Matt Light doesn’t appear quite ready to make a decision on his future. The veteran blind-side protector doesn’t plan to discuss a future contract with the Patriots until after a new collective bargaining agreement is finalized, according to a source with knowledge of Light’s thinking. The 32-year-old has been clear that he hopes to play his 11th season for the Patriots. The former second-round pick, who has started for nearly all of his career on the left side, said as much when the season ended. “This has been a great organization, a great place to play,†Light said after the playoff loss to the Jets. “I hope like hell I’ll be here and continue to do what I’ve done. But we’ll have to wait and see how it works itself out.†Light just finished up a six-year, $27 million contract, staving off promising right tackle Sebastian Vollmer for the role of quarterback Tom Brady’s bodyguard. At 32, and on the decline a bit, I don't see a long term deal. 1-2 years they'll go for, and I can't see Light asking for a Mankins type of deal.
