Best available or -- in the case of Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert, A.J. Green or Julio Jones -- the most dynamic: That may be the question for Jeff Ireland in Miami. Owner Stephen Ross wants someone that will bring glitz and glamour and put butts in the seats. And the best player on the board might be someone that does neither but could still be the best available player on the Miami board. Or the best option in Ireland's opinion. ... Would he go away from doing the popular thing that will get him applause from folks at the Dolphins draft party at the expense going with the highest-rated guy on his board that perhaps plays a position that excites no one and could get him roasted publicly?

Winning brings butts to the seats.

  3. interesting quandary here.

I think he will go with a QB or RB. Either would excite the people.

I doubt it's a QB, maybe a RB but I think the move is trading back for a second round pick and boslter the o-line.

I thought this draft was going to be a draft by need type draft given there will be no FA?

  6. why do you doubt it's a QB? Surely you can't be impressed with Henne?

The team apparently loves Newton but won't get him that far down.

In round 2 they'll probably grab Kaepernick (If available)

I really really can't see them trading down. If Ireland doesn't have an exciting draft he could start feeling the HEAT.

The biggest Henne supporter is Sporano. Bolstering the line will allow for a running game which takes the pressure off of Henne. And a gimmick QB already failed with Pat White.

  8. Sparano isn't the GM though. I see your point but I think some of that might be a smoke screen.

I get that but o.line will be addressed in the middle rounds most likely.

huge difference between Pat White and Colin Kaepernick though but you maybe right.

Maybe they trade down for a guy like Jake Locker.

    Ingram, Ingram, Ingram.

IMO best possible pick at #15. Solid Value?....... Check. Need?...... Check. "Safe" prospect?..... Check. Gate attraction........Check

That's what I think will happen JJ. Unless they do infact trade down and hope for Pouncey.

I honestly think Pouncey could be had with their second. I dont see him going as high as his brother

That's why they would trade down, they don't have a second.

You think Pouncey will make it out of the first round? I was thinking he would go somewhere between 20-ish and 32.

I think the Dolphins will be taking a QB early on in the draft. If they don't bite in the first then they will be hoping players like Ponder or Kapernick slip to their later picks.

I think he is a early to mid second, just because he isnt quite as good of an OG prospect as his brother, and is very Gurodeesque with his snaps at OC. Markice projected as an All Pro level prospect at OG and OC. I think Mike is a notch below him at OG, and way below him at OC
