The Clinton administration is officially over in Washington as the Redskins confirmed the release of RB Clinton Portis on Monday, a move the nine-year veteran had anticipated after coach Mike Shanahan telegraphed it at the scouting combine."Clinton provided excitement from the very first time he touched the ball as a Redskin and we were lucky to witness every ounce of energy, effort and passion he has given ever since," owner Dan Snyder said in a statement.
