1. Carolina (2-14) DT Marcell Daureus Alabama The Panthers have a huge hole at DT. Daureus has jumped over Fairley and is a hot prospect. I think they will consider Da'quan Bowers but he might not be fully healthy after a recent knee scope and I've heard the Panthers are concerned about it. 2. Denver (4-12) CB Patrick Peterson LSU Peterson is a great CB and even though the team resigned Champ Bailey Andre Goodman and Champ Bailey aren't getting any younger. 3. Buffalo (4-12) LB Von Miller Texas a&m Miller is a good prospect and the Bills need some pass rush help. Merriman is in one spot and the other is wide open. 4. Cincinnati (4-12) QB Cam Newton Auburn Newton is seen by some as the #1 QB others are not a big fan at all. Newton has his pro day tomorrow and Owner/ GM Mike Brown should be in attendance. The status of Carson Palmer is unknown and they're going to need a backup plan. Not to mention Palmer is 30 and Mike Brown has drafted a QB when his current one is still just 30. 5. Arizona (5-11) LB Da'quan Bowers Clemson Bowers is a great pass rusher and the Cards need some help in that area. Bowers would replace either of the aging pair of Joey Porter or Clark Haggans. 6. Cleveland (5-11) WR AJ Green UGA Green would give the Browns a speedy WR they can depend on and assist Colt Mccoy in his development. 7. San Francisco (6-10) LB Robert Quinn UNC Quinn would give the 49ers a great pass rusher which is something they have been missing in their 3-4 defense for awhile. 8. Tennessee (6-10) QB Blaine Gabbert Missouri Gabbert gives the Titans a legitimate QB they can develop behind a veteran. 9. Dallas (6-10) DE Nick Fairley Auburn Fairley's stock has slipped but the Cowboys should stop it. Fairley would be great to the Cowboys rotation at DE. 10. Washington (6-10) WR Julio Jones Alabama Shanahan I'm sure would love a legit option at WR for whatever QB he picks in later rounds. 11. Houston (6-10) CB Prince Amukamara Nebraska Amukamara would help the Texans secondary. It was one of the worst secondaries in league history. 12. Minnesota (6-10) DE Cam Jordan Cal. Jordan would be a great fit in Minn. He would replace Ray Edwards who is almost guaranteed to leave as a free agent and get a big pay day. 13. Detroit (6-10) OT Anthony Costanzo Boston College Costanzo would finally provide Stafford with some help he needs for his o.line. 14. St. Louis (7-9) DE Aldon Smith Missouri Smith would be a great addition at DE. Pairing him and Chris Long together would be deadly. Spags loves athletic pass rushers like Smith. 15. Miami (7-9) RB Mark Ingram Alabama Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are free agents. Ingram could be the bell cow the Fins need. 16. Jacksonville (8-8) DE Ryan Kerrigan Purdue Kerrigan is a great DE and should appeal the the Jags. He has been compared to Aaron Kampman who the Jags currently have on the roster. Why not pair them together? 17. New England - from Oakland (8-8) DE J.J. Watt Wisconsin Watt is a great DE and the Pats could really use another one to add to the rotation. They never really found an elite replacement for Seymour. 18. San Diego (9-7) NT/DE Phil Taylor Baylor Taylor is a versatile guy and has great speed for his size. He can play either spot and the Chargers could use help at both. 19. New York Giants (10-6) LB Martez Wilson Illinois Wilson ran a blazing 40. He is a great prospect and he can play OLB and MLB. The Giants need help at both. 20. Tampa Bay (10-6) DE Justin Houston UGA Houston would be great for the Bucs. It's been known they're targeting a DE and Houston would be a great value pick here. 21. Kansas City* (10-6) OT Gabe Carimi Wisconsin Carimi is a great OT. The general consensus is he is a RT only. Conveniently that's exactly what the Chiefs need. 22. Indianapolis* (10-6) OT Tyron Smith USC A great value pick here for the Colts. Smith would shore up an area that's been a problem for the Colts for several years. 23. Philadelphia* (10-6) OG Mike Pouncey Florida Pouncey is a great player, but perhaps over hyped a little. The Eagles could use help at OG and Pouncey is the best. 24. New Orleans* (11-5) DE Adrian Clayborn Iowa Clayborn is a good DE and the Saints are fans of big DE's. It would be a great pick. 25. Seattle* (7-9) QB Jake Locker Washington Locker is a great QB. He is one of my favorite QB's of the draft. He should provide Carrol with a great developmental QB behind Hasselbeck. 26. Baltimore* (12-4) WR Torrey Smith Maryland Smith is a fast WR and the Ravens are known for having the slowest WR core in the league. 27. Atlanta* (13-3) WR Leonard Hankerson Miami U. Hankerson's stock is going way up. The Falcons need a great #2 and Hankerson would be that player. They'd take a DE if one was worth taking here. 28. New England* (14-2) OG Ben Ijilana Villanova Ijilana's stock is going way up. He has great versatility and can play OT and OG. 29. Chicago* (11-5) OT Nate Solder Colorado Solder is a great OT. He is still raw but I definitely see the Bears taking the risk. 30. New York Jets* (11-5) DE Cameron Heyward Ohio St. Heyward is a great DE. But isn't very scheme diverse. He will appeal to the Jets though who need a DE to pair with Shaun Ellis. 31. Pittsburgh* (12-4) CB Brandon Harris Miami U. Harris stock is going up big time. He should appeal to the Steelers who need to give Gay less playing time. 32. Green Bay* (10-6) OT Derek Sherrod Miss. St. The Pack grabbed Bryan Bulaga last year. This year they grab Sherrod for the other side.
I would love to se he Chiefs take Smith because Albert is not a true Lt and is ok there now. But taking Smith would allow for them to move Albert to the right side and shore up the tackle poison because Albert would be a beast at RT.
Great mock! Wilson at 19 was a bit of reach but i love that pick, he'd upgrade their talent level at LB, I'd be scared to death to take Locker in the 2nd , let alone the first. Hankerson is really impressing me more and more, have a feeling he can have an immediate impact.
decent mock. I agree with Fairley. The whole brain tumor thing with Quinn is a little off putting, but from everything so far, it looks as though he is still locked in to a top 10 pick.
yeah that's not surprising. Unless he has a heck of a pro day he isn't 'flashy' and might slip a bit plus he had a bad sr. yr.
I'd prefer Heyward over Watt but I'm fine with the Ijilana pick. I don't think NE will take Ijilana though; with the exception of Mankins they've built their oline from the 2nd round on, and none of the guys they drafted were top-ranked/well known prospects. I could see them passing on oline altogether in the first and then drafting someone like James Carpenter or Wiz Jr. later on.
I like the Giants pick I don't really remember the Giants linebacking core, except for Goff who was actually pretty solid at middle, see how he does this year or next year if this CBA doesn't get done or there's a lock out. I'm going to binge drink if there is no football but I'd like to see him at OLB, especially if he had a fast 40.
You really think Fairley is going to fall that far. I think Fairley is more a 3 Tech, and i dont want to see Dallas go 5 Tech at 9, but I would be freaking exstatic if we took Fairley at #9 Simply put, players are freaking players, and value is value
It's definitely possible. I think he could play some 3-4 DE as well. But I agree with you he's best in a 4-3.
We're supposed to be playing more of a hybrid D this year. If we land Fairley, I wouldnt mind trading up from the 40th pick to the late first and taking Taylor. A front line rotation of Ratliff, Fairley, Taylor, Brent, Bowen, and Olshansky = Doom Me and you could play CB lol
