As long as Tim Tebow is around, the quarterback depth chart will be of interest in Denver. It sounds more and more like the Broncos are backing off a trade of QB Kyle Orton. We hear the team prefers to have a veteran quarterback on the roster, especially if a lockout causes a long layoff. The original rumor was that the organization was looking for a second-round pick for the signal-caller, something that could not happen with an expired collective bargaining agreement. Why are they backing off? They could trade him to just about any team in the league. Most teams have issues at QB. (Some, like the 2-14 Carolina Panthers, haven't ever really had a good QB). They could get draft picks, maybe a developmental prospect, and maybe some cash for him.
