Hall of Famer Warren Moon is probably the best quarterback in the history of the Tennessee Titans ... even though all of his history with the franchise occurred when the Titans were still the Houston Oilers. Now Moon is ready to give the Titans -- and new head coach Mike Munchak, a Hall of Famer himself and a teammate of Moon's in Houston -- some predraft advice: Take Cam Newton. "I know they don't have a (quarterback) right now, and I know this guy is going to be special. I'm just going to tell (Munchak) what I know as he tries to make his decision," Moon tells The (Nashville) Tennessean. With Kerry Collins a free agent and Vince Young expected to be released, the Titans won't have an experienced signal caller on their roster. What they do have is the No. 8 pick of the draft, though there is no guarantee Newton will be around at that point. But if he is, Moon, who has been advising Newton, thinks the Heisman Trophy winner and former Auburn star could be at least as good an investment for the franchise as he was nearly three decades ago. "I think Munch respects me, and I think he respects my opinion, and I think he would feel like I wouldn't associate myself with somebody unless I really felt like they had a chance to be good or great," Moon said. "There are a lot of other guys I could probably work with but this guy is special. "I am probably not as athletic as Cam is, and I am not as tall as he is. But in my younger days I had all the escapability he has that made me successful with my versatility. So it didn't matter what offense I went in to or team I went to, I was able to adapt to that system. And that is what he is going to be able to do. I had the strong arm, and he does as well. … And he's a highly intelligent kid who understands football."

That's harsh to Newton...at least he doesn't have a pathetic arm and the emo outbursts.
