The United Football League named Marty Schottenheimer the coach and GM of its Virginia Destroyers franchise on Wednesday. Schotteneimer, an NFL head coach for 21 years, becomes the fourth former head coach to lead a UFL team this season. "I am excited to lead the Destroyers and am eager to return to the football field in Virginia," Schottenheimer. "I have been impressed with the fervor and passion that has been created in the region for a team that has yet to play a down of football. I promise the fans there that we will repay them with a great product on the field and a franchise to make them proud."

I'm going to miss hearing Marty Schottenheimer on "The Opening Drive" on Sirius NFL Radio. Maybe they could get Jeff Fisher to replace Marty on Sirius NFL Radio.

I don't think Fisher would be opposed to that. He was good on his weekly spot with Ryan and Kirwan.

Good for Marty. He's always said he was over coaching but when he said it on the radio, you could tell there was some hesitation...
